37.5 weeks….ready to go!

How pregnant am I?:  37 weeks, 5 days

Weight gain so far:  about 30 lbs.  glad I kept it to 30 this time instead of 40 like with Hannah

Belly Button:  out and weird looking due to my old piercing holes

Clothing options:  Maternity only, mostly the same three pairs of pants and 5-6 tops.  I am so DONE with maternity clothes!!

Boobs:  Heavy and huge, still

Now about the real star of the show:  Baby girl is a watermelon!  Won't change fruits again.  She should be ready to go, everything working on her own.  She is likely about 7 lbs by now!

Pregnancy "symptoms":   A LOT of movement, even my OB called her a "spaz."  Her heart rate was so high at my last visit (in the 170s for 7-8 min) that she waited for her to calm down to make sure she was ok!  My back hurts constantly, I can't sleep, I pee all. the. time.  I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced, so yay! And that was two weeks ago, so I wonder how I've progressed!

Cravings:  Nothing really, just food in general.  I am constantly starving.

What I've bought so far:  Everything.  We are ready to go!

Best moment this week:  Thinking that I was in labor two days ago.  Not so.  Oh well!

What I miss:  Alcohol, snuggling with Hannah comfortably.  Being able to move without a waddle. :)

What I am excited for this week:  Dr appt tomorrow.  Will find out if I am dilating any more!

Other news:  We have a name but we aren't sharing yet!  Oh ya, and I'm having a baby hopefully this week!

Baby update....25-26 weeks

How pregnant am I?:  25 weeks, 6 days

Weight gain so far:  only 12 pounds.  I am in awe.  It's just cuz I chase Hannah all over the place and rarely have time to relax.  Lord knows I haven't been exercising or really watching what I eat!

Belly Button:  Gonna be out soon!

Clothing options:  Maternity only, with the exception of a couple of stretchy dresses.

Boobs:  Heavy and huge

Now about the real star of the show:  This week baby is the size of an eggplant.  She (yes I said she!) can see light and can hear our voices.  Hannah likes to shine the flashlight on my belly since I told her that!  SHe is probably about 13.5 inches long and 1.5 lbs already.  SHe is adding baby fat now too!

Pregnancy "symptoms":   Lots of movement.  Back and hip pain.  Indigestion.  Good times

Cravings:  Sweets and fruit, still!  PIE!

What I've bought so far:  Just a few little PJ outfits for her.  Now that we know it's a girl, we don't need a whole lot!

Best moment this week:  Seeing her at my ultrasound today.  She was completely curled up in a pike position and did not cooperate at all

What I miss:  Moving around easily.  Sleeping well.

What I am excited for this week:  Hannah starts school on Thursday!  Third trimester beginning!

Other news:   It's a GIRL!  In case you missed that.

19 weeks

How pregnant am I?:  19 weeks, 1 day

Weight gain so far:  about 9 lbs.  My doctor was actually concerned that I wasn't gaining enough!  Up till this week, it was only about 6 lbs.  I am sure I will start gaining more now that I am further along, but I am really trying not to put on the 45 lbs that I did with Hannah.  My back hurts enough as it is!

Belly Button:  Flattening out already!  SO much earlier than last time.

Clothing options:  I still choose to wear dresses to work most days. Comfy and cute.  I am definitely into maternity clothes now. I am just happy that I finally have a belly that looks pregnant, instead of just looking chubby!

Boobs:  Went up another bra size yesterday.  Argh.  I think I'm gonna end up bigger this time around.

Now about the real star of the show:  This week baby is as big as a large mango from crown to rump.  Genitals are fully formed, which means we get to find out gender, tomorrow in fact!  Baby is growing hair.  Baby can hear us most likely, and it's reflexes are strengthening.

Pregnancy "symptoms":   My back is killing me constantly.  I can feel little kicks now!  I am already moving more slowly.

Cravings:  Sweets and fruit

What I've bought so far:  Still nothing for the baby.  Focusing on Hannah's Big Girl Room!

Best moment this week:  Tomorrow when we have the anatomy scan.

What I miss:  Same thing as last time:  Wine.  Being able to lounge around as often as I want.  Hard to do with a 2 year old at home!

What I am excited for this week:  Finding out the gender, and my vacation with Hannah to Norcal to see Vanessa and Kristen!

Other news:  At my appt at 16 weeks, my OB and I both thought that baby looked like a boy.  Trying to not to get our hopes up too much, but I'd be surprised if it ends up being a girl after what we saw!  Hannah says that my baby is a boy and hers is a girl.  :)

Here we go again!

I've been keeping a big secret!  Hannah is going to be a big sister!  We are expecting a new baby on December 17th!  Gonna be a crazy holiday season this year!  I have told family and close friends, but haven't gone "Facebook official" yet.  Gonna try to keep up with blogging again, and have to get some Hannah updates in here too!

How pregnant am I?:  12 weeks

Weight gain so far:  About 2-3 lbs.  Can't believe it isn't more, considering my love of sweets this pregnancy (even more than usual!), but I guess lugging around a 26 lb kid helps with that!

Belly Button:  Flattening out already!  SO much earlier than last time.

Clothing options:  I choose to wear dresses to work most days. Comfy and cute.  I can wear some of my regular shirts, but options are wearing thin.  Although I am still not big enough for most maternity clothes.  But I have a few pairs of shorts and skirts that I wear when I am not working.

Boobs:  Ginormous already.  Even I can't stop staring at them!

Now about the real star of the show:  This week the baby is growing from the size of a plum to the size of a peach.  It has just about all the systems in place and body parts in place, now it will just grow bigger.  Its reflexes will start developing, and it will start to straighten out, instead of being curled up in a ball.  Its kidneys will also start excreting urine.

Pregnancy "symptoms":   I am exhausted and my back is killing me.  That's about it.  I am not nauseous anymore, but I was almost all day every day from weeks 4.5-11.  Glad that seems to be over!  I can't sleep well, either, which really sucks.

Cravings:  As I did with Hannah, I want lots of fruit again.  And I can't eat chicken without drowning it in some sort of sauce.  This time I am also having trouble with any kind of animal protein.  Mostly craving carbs and sweets (more carbs!)!

What I've bought so far:  A couple new shirts, but luckily a few friends gave me a ton of maternity clothes.  I have all winter stuff from my last pregnancy.  So they filled in a summer wardrobe for me.

Best moment this week:  It will be Thursday when we go in for our NT scan for Downs.  We will get to see the baby in pretty good detail!  My last ultrasound, it was asleep and wouldn't budge, so hopefully it will be active at this one!

What I miss:  Wine.  Being able to lounge around as often as I want.  Hard to do with a 2 year old at home!

What I am excited for this week:  Seeing baby on the NT scan.

A year in pictures...

I am going to start blogging again, now that I think I might actually have time to catch up!  I can't believe that it has been a whole year.  I wanted to catch up month by month since Hannah changes so much, but if I do that, I'll never be current.  So a quick update over the past year...

I was supposed to be starting nursing school last August.  Instead, I decided to stay on at the medical practice that I do billing for.  I worked out a great deal with my bosses, got a raise, and only work 30 hours a week now.  So I get to be home with Hannah 2 weekdays, and go in to the office the other 3 days.  I don't know how I would have ever managed school and a baby, and I am happy with the decision that I made.  That decision also allowed Steve to quit his job with Xerox this past April.  He didn't like the path he was on.  So he went back to work for an old employer, as IT Director, which is what he really has always wanted to do.  He is much happier day to day, and really looks forward to this new venture!

We had a wonderful Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas with family.  It was neat that it was Hannah' first, but I think I am actually looking forward to THIS holiday season even more, since she is older and will be so excited now!  Although Christmas was pretty exciting, since Hannah walked for the first time ON Christmas Day!  Also, in December, I took Steve on a surprise trip to SB for a short overnight.  We left Hannah for the first time.  She did great, we did great, and it was so nice to know that she was home with family safe and sound.  Gave us a glimpse of what our old life was like!

In January we celebrated my birthday.  I also started a "preschool" with Hannah one day a week.  I go with her on Thursdays, for 3 hours.  She loves it.  Lots of playing and exploring and singing and dancing and learning.  It's a great program.  I also took a sewing class and learned the basics, which was something that I have always wanted to do.  My friend Kristen goes to the preschool and took the sewing class with me.  She has a son who is one month older than Hannah, and we have become great friends.  Hannah loves hanging with them!

February was pretty mellow.  We had Rylan's (Kristen's son) first birthday party.  I had minor surgery on my hand to remove a cyst.  That was an interesting week, trying to take care of Hannah with a huge splint on my hand.  But Steve stepped it up and made it very manageable!  I think this is the month we found out that Sarah and Kevin were expecting another baby!

What is this stuff?!

In March we had Hannah's first birthday party.  We did an owl theme, and everything turned out soooo cute.  I was very pleased with everything.  And so many friends and family came out! Later that month Hannah had her first plane ride, to go see Vanessa and her family in NorCal.  I was terrified but survived.  We got to meet Vanessa's baby, Caleb, who is only a few months young than Hannah.  All the kids had a blast together, and Vanessa and I even got out for a nice dinner alone.  Also, in March, Sarah and Joel welcomed baby Zane!  And Steve took a trip to Vegas with his friend Clint for a boys get away.

In April Steve jetted off to Vegas again with the guys.  Later in the month we went to Chicago for the first time.  We went with Sarah and Kevin and their daughter Kami.  We packed a ton of stuff into 4 days, and even though we hit some bad weather, we managed to have a great time.  We stayed in a home there that had an indoor jacuzzi, so every night we put the girls to bed and stayed up drinking and sitting in the jacuzzi, which was a great plus!  We went to the aquarium, planetarium, a White Sox game, Natural History Museum, ate great food and walked all over the city.  I really liked it there and would love to visit again!

In May we went to Orange County with my parents and brother and stayed in a beach house that belongs to a friend of my dad's.  It was so much fun to relax and hang out.  Hannah had the run of the house and enjoyed herself.

In June, preschool ended for the summer.   Sad.  But we managed to see a lot of the moms and kids all throughout the summer.  We also went away for a whole weekend, to Palm Springs to see Lindsey, one of my oldest friends, get married.  We had a wonderful time.  I was finally free of nursing (having stopped in March) and didn't have to worry about pumping and limiting drinking and all.  Steve and I had a great time and Lindsey and Matt's wedding was beautiful!  That month we also celebrated Melanie's baby shower, cousin Evan's first birthday, and Father's Day.  And Hannah went to her first Dodgers game.  Oh, and our 4th wedding anniversary.  We snuck out for a nice dinner at our fave spot, but didn't do anything extravagant.

In July we went to the Aguirre's for the fourth, like we always do.  It's always a great time.  I went to a Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney concert, which was so much fun.  I wish I could do that more!  This month I did a lot of playdates with Hannah and our other friends.  Splash pad, Underwood farms, the beach, the farmer's market, and playdates at each other's houses.  It was nice to have some days off during the summer for things like this!  At the end of July, about 30 Anschultz family members and friends went on a cruise to Alaska.  Steve and I skipped it, since we knew we'd miss a lot of hit bringing Hannah along.  But they all had a great time!

August was filled with parties on the weekends, and a couple of trips.  Also, my cousin Keith got married, so a bunch of us cousins had a really great time celebrating with him.  The next weekend, Hannah and I flew to Sacramento to hang out with the Gatewood's again.  We stayed with Vanessa's parents, and all the kids got to hang out and play together all weekend.  It was awesome to see everyone.  Two weeks later, Steve and I went to Vegas alone for 3 full days.  We stayed at the Red Rock, which we had wanted to do for a year since finding out about it.  The hotel is so nice, the pool is fantastic, and the table limits are lower, so gambling is "easier."  It was a MUCH needed getaway.  Hannah did great at home with my parents, as usual.  I hope we can get away like this more often now that she is older!

In September we went to SD to see the Burgwalds for Labor day.  We hadn't spent a weekend with them since the previous year.  So it was wonderful to catch up and watch the kids hang out and play together.  Then the next weekend, we went back to the OC beach house with my parents and Mark.  Then the next weekend Vanessa was in SB for a conference, so she made it down for a night to have dinner and catch up a bit.  The rest of the month was filled with fun weekend activities as well.  Hannah went on her first boat cruise with the Reznicks.  Also, school started up for Hannah again, which she just adores.

Now it's mid October, and things are slowing down again.  I will post a Hannah update sometime this week!
